Introduction to Meditation

Learn to settle your mind and find genuine peace. This friendly, step-by-step course introduces the core techniques of Buddhist meditation in a completely accessible way — no experience, no belief required.

The Compassionate Heart

A transformative eight-week programme in the Tibetan Buddhist art of mind training. Learn to work with difficult emotions, cultivate genuine kindness, and develop the courage to open your heart to yourself and others.

About Stillwater

Non-sectarian, welcoming, grounded

Stillwater draws on the wisdom of multiple Buddhist traditions — Tibetan, Zen, and Theravada — offering what is most helpful without demanding you adopt any particular belief system.

Our courses share simple meditation techniques and methods for training in compassion, developed over centuries yet directly relevant to the challenges of everyday life: stress, anxiety, difficult relationships, and the search for meaning.

We are based in Woodstock, NY and offer in-person programmes at our centre, as well as occasional online sessions.
